These are the legends working behind the scenes to make your Urban Rec experience top-tier. From scheduling games and wrangling venues, to answering your DMs and hyping up your league night – this crew is the heartbeat of everything we do.

They don’t wear capes (most of the time), but they’re the reason your sport is social, seamless, and seriously fun. Say G’day next time you see them on the sidelines! 👋

MADELEINE WILKIE, MANAGING DIRECTOR

Madeleine kicked off Urban Rec in Sydney back in 2012 after spotting a gap between competitive sport and casual social fun. Inspired by her time in Vancouver, she brought the concept down under – and hasn’t looked back. Fast forward to today, she’s grown Urban Rec into a national movement with 9 locations across Australia, all flying the flag for fun, inclusive, and low-pressure sport.

Not an elite athlete (she’ll be the first to tell you), but a big believer in the power of sport to build mateship, boost confidence, and bring people together. Changing the way Aussies play sport? She’s already doing it.

DANNY SKIDMORE, GENERAL MANAGER

If you’ve played in an Urban Rec league anytime in the last decade, you’ve probably crossed paths with Danny or at least felt the ripple of his energy. Hailing from England, Danny joined Urban Rec in 2016 as an Event Host and has since levelled up to GM, now steering the ship across Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth.

A full blown Aston Villa tragic and die hard Roosters supporter, Danny froths anything sport related. He lives for a cracking vibe, a stacked sideline and a well earned post game bevvy. He’s all about creating events that feel bigger than the game itself. The recipe is simple. Big heart, big energy, and a rock solid belief that sport is for everyone.

Sascha sinKo, BUSINESS ADMIN MANAGER

Don’t let the sass fool you – Sascha means business. Starting off in admin work then league management she’s moved up the ranks and is now our youngest business admin manager. Sascha’s got the rare combo of big energy, questionable jokes and serious organisational skills. With her strong work ethic, willingness to step outside her comfort zone, and persistence to see things through, she’s learning to lead. On the weekends you’ll catch her drinking rosé on pub balcony’s, swimming at the beach and watching the doggies knock the ball on every single set!

Sascha’s role covers business admin across Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane & Perth.

danny “niko” Nikolovski, SENIOR LEAgue MANAGER

Niko is a key leader within the Urban Rec team and one of the driving forces behind some of our strongest leagues. Smart, reliable, and calm under pressure, he leads from the front and makes sure everything runs smoothly week in, week out. He’s big on sport, bigger on doing things properly, and always goes the extra mile to deliver a great experience for members and staff alike. Off the clock, you’ll find him on the soccer pitch, backing the Roosters, or catching up with mates over a cold one. A trusted leader, a people person, and very much one of the good ones.

AIDAN WHIPPS, LEAgue MANAGER

Aidan may be the new kid on the block but he’s been taking his leagues by storm – Big energy, big grin, and a knack for making the chaos of league nights look easy. Quickly becoming known as our scheduling guru and making sure games run smoothly, he is the glue that keeps the team together. We’re pumped to see the impact he’s going to continue to make across this year and beyond. On the weekend you’ll catch him watching literally anything sport related and sinking a few cold ones with mates (Carlton Draught to be exact) ;)
